Recorders

There’s something for everyone in the Recorder section, children and young people, adults, families, recorder groups and composers.

Classes cover Descant, Treble, Tenor and Bass recorders. There are unaccompanied and accompanied solo classes, categorised by age, ranging from age 6 and under up to age 18. Included are a Jazz Descant and Scott Joplin Rags solo classes. Amongst the wide range of other classes for recorder groups are Parent and Child duet, a non-competitive Family Recorder Duet/Trio/Quartet and a Teacher and Pupil Duet.

The Recorder section also features a series of Recital and Open classes, including Composition (where recorders can combine with other instruments), Sonata or Suite and a Concerto class.

The section includes a number of special non-competitive classes, (with adjudication), to encourage the widest participation. The range of non-competitive classes now includes Treble recorders and Trios.
