About

Piano

The Piano section has a variety of classes for both budding and more established pianists.

There are ‘own choice’ classes for specific ages of children and young people and ‘set piece’ classes for those currently studying grades 1 – 8. There is a special ‘adult’ class for age over 18 beginners.

Teacher/ Pupil (where the pupil only is adjudicated) and Adult/Child duets are encouraged and specific classes are available.

The Piano section features J.S. Bach, Composition (where composers play their own work), Recital, Jazz, Sonatina and Sonata classes for young people aged 10 -18.

A separate Senior Piano section for all aged 16 and over includes Bach, Chopin and Recital classes.

The Concerto class, (open to all) where a set movement of a well known concerto is performed with professional orchestra, is unique for this type of festival and provides an exceptional opportunity for entrants.
