CHILD PROTECTION POLICY

1. Purpose & function of Organisation: The object of the Festival shall be to mount annually an open competitive and non-competitive festival for amateurs of all ages for educational purposes, and to be judged by professional adjudication according to recommendations set by the British & International Federation of Festivals.

2. The Festival Environment : The Reigate & Redhill Festival is run by volunteers comprising performing and teaching musicians and parents who have or have had children growing up in a musical environment willing to maintain their interest in this on-going way.

3. To whom does this policy apply : This policy relates to children under the age of 18 years and those vulnerable adults of any age who are identified to the organisers prior to their arrival at the Festival.

4. Festival Personnel : The Festival is staffed by Committee members and helpers recommended by them. The Festival complies with current Child Protection legislation including CRB checking of all personnel where required. All Festival personnel will be clearly identifiable by a badge bearing our logo and title. Anyone wearing an official badge may be approached in case of a problem and will be able to direct the enquiry to the responsible person who will deal with it. Any problems will be handled sympathetically and will be documented and dated.
