TIMOTHY JACKSON
Timothy Jackson was born in Preston, and at the age of fifteen was awarded a scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Music. He continued his studies at the University of Manchester and the Royal Northern College of Music, becoming principal horn of the European Union Youth Orchestra. He was a member of the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, before joining the Philharmonia Orchestra in 2006.
Timothy also performs as guest principal horn with orchestras throughout the UK and Europe and is much in demand as a period horn player, recently performing as soloist in an award-winning recording of Bach’s 1st Brandenburg Concerto with Trevor Pinnock. He has appeared as soloist with orchestras including the BBC SSO, London Mozart Players, and Philharmonia Orchestra and also enjoys playing jazz, both with his own quartet and with groups such as the Creative Jazz Orchestra and the BBC Radio Big Band.
