LUISE HORROCKS

Luise Horrocks began her musical training at Oxford University, later taking an Advanced Studies Course at the Royal College of Music.

As well as giving solo song recitals Luise has sung as Soprano Soloist both here and in Europe in many different Oratorios and works from Monteverdi to Stravinsky with orchestras as diverse as the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and the English String Orchestra.  Her BBC broadcasts include performances of Handel’s Messiah, Haydn’s Creation and works by Goehr. 

She is part of the highly successful trio Triple Time.  On the opera stage she has appeared at Buxton Opera House. She has recently returned from a recital tour of the USA and from performing a series of concerts in South Africa.

Luise has taught in both the Junior and Senior departments of the Birmingham Conservatoire, in schools and in an extensive private practice.  Her pupils range from beginners to professionals.  She has also trained and conducted the Wyre Forest Young Voices choir.

As an adjudicator member of the British & International Federation of Festivals she has wide experience of many different festivals.  She is a  mentor on the CT ABRSM panel, a visiting Lecturer at the University of Birmingham and a senior examiner for Trinity Guildhall for whom she has worked in Ireland, Belgium, Cyprus, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Australia, New Zealand, Dubai and Oman as well as in the UK.
